Six original woodcut prints** have been created in this blue ink.  Each is unique in the amount of ink coverage: 1/6 and 2/6 are darkest with a darker mane on 2/6, and the faint ink on 6/6 has a speckled appearance.  The last image is the carved plate used in the printing process.

** Woodcut prints are created by carving an image into a wooden/MDF plate, then rolling ink over the plate and transferring the image onto heavy paper using a printing press.  The result is an original piece of artwork that has the modern appeal of a screen-printed piece but with a more uniquely embossed texture.  Some prints can look more like oil paintings depending on the printing and inking techniques used.  To learn more about the printmaking process, check out our XXXX page.
